In
October 2004, the
Provost appointed
a special task force
to explore the university’s
intellectual climate,
how students learn
and should learn in
today’s
academic environment
and whether UGA’s
general education
requirements remain
innovative, engaging
for undergraduate
students and provide
the most effective
overall education
for them.
In
meetings
and public forums,
the Task Force has
developed a set recommendations.
The Academic Affairs
Symposium
critiqued
these recommendations
and developed strategies
for consideration
and adoption by the
University community.
